I am thrilled to announce that a photo I shot at Jessica and Jakob’s Malta wedding placed in the 2012 year end WPJA Contest. The WPJA is the prestigious Wedding Photojournalists Association. I have been a member since 2003 and have placed in many of their contests. Below is the winning image.

Mallie and Nick were married in February on a sunny, snowy day in northern Michigan at Black Star Farms.  I’m from Michigan and northern Michigan is close to my heart because it is where my parents retired. So not only was I photographing Mallie and Nick’s wedding on my trip I had a chance to visit my family! Mallie and Nick were great sports about venturing into the cold for photos. It was a lot colder than it looked out there! Thank you Mallie and Nick!

Thank you notes from my couples are the best! I photographed Abby and Justin’s wedding at The Merion in New Jersey on a 100 degree day last June. Earlier this month I received this lovely note from them:

Happy New Year! What a year 2012 was! I ventured as far as the little island of Malta in the Mediterranean Sea and as close to home as ten blocks from my apartment in Manhattan photographing weddings. Equally as exciting was catching up with couples from years past as they welcomed their first children in to their family.
