My favorite things in South Beach | Part One Mar 30th, 2009
travels | by admin

As I pack up the apartment in South Beach to head back to Manhattan I wanted to mention some of my favorite spots in South Beach. Miami is a truly unique place and I have enjoyed every minute of the time I have spent here over the Winter. My favorite neighborhood dining establishment is A La Folie, a cute French cafe, which has amazing crepes. Today I had the Tunisienne crepe, which is honey, walnuts, mint, and lemon. The brie and pear crepe is also tasty. The three cheese crepe (brie, goat cheese, and swiss cheese) is another regular for me. A La Folie is located on Espanola Way if you are ever in the area. I also had memorable meals at Michael’s Genuine in the Design District, Table 8 right on Ocean Drive in South Beach, and Barton G in South Beach. Another treat is La Gelaterie on Lincoln Road, which I frequented. I highly recommend the hazelnut gelato! Below is a shot of A La Folie’s outdoor seating and the counter at La Gelaterie.

The beach Mar 23rd, 2009
travels | by admin

My time in South Beach is almost over. I’m excited to be back in Manhattan but I must admit I will miss the beach and the ocean. Today I spent most of my day walking and photographing. I documented one of my favorite things in South Beach: all the retro fonts on the buildings in the area. They are so fun! Enjoy.

It was certainly one of my most memorable weddings. Here’s a shot of the beautiful couple.

I am so thrilled with the 17 photo spread displaying Jill and Jeremy’s Vermont wedding in Real Weddings Magazine! I photographed this amazing wedding in June of last year. Jill and Jeremy were such a fun, artistic couple and the thought and care they put into their wedding was evident.

Thanks Amanda and Phil Mar 05th, 2009
weddings | by admin

Amanda and Phil sent me a great thank you note that I wanted to share. I photographed their beautiful wedding at Davio’s in Philadelphia in January. Thanks Amanda and Phil!

Hi Karin,

Phil and I received the link to the wedding photos and we absolutely love them! Thank you
so much for being there to shoot photos of our wedding. The day went by so fast and in
such a blur, I’m so happy that we have these photos to look back on that special time. I
can not tell you how much we love every single shot. You are so talented! I love the fact
that the photos aren’t about fancy tricks or stiff posed shots… they are just solid
moments that you were able to beautifully and compose, and capture for us to remember.
Phil and I will happily refer you to anyone who might ask.

Thanks again SO much!!! We love the photos and can’t wait to print and frame some for us
and our families.

Best,
Amanda & Phil

Sara and Robert | Fairport, NY Mar 02nd, 2009
weddings | by admin

Sara and Robert were married in early February in Fairport, New York. They had the luck of being married on an unseasonably warm day in Upstate New York. So warm that we could even do some outdoor photos at the Webster Pier on Lake Ontario! The reception was held at the beautiful Casa Larga and featured the amazing sweets room! I highly recommend this to any Casa Larga brides. I could have spent all night in there photographing (and sampling) the confections in the sweets room. Sara and Robert: I hope you had an amazing time in Costa Rica!!
