Sarah and Clay | Cabrera, Dominican Republic Oct 28th, 2009
weddings | by admin

Sometimes I just get incredibly lucky- like the day Clay and Sarah booked me for their wedding in the Dominican Republic! Clay and Sarah live in San Francisco so I didn’t get the opportunity to meet them before the wedding so I was thrilled to find that they were two very sweet and charming individuals who had planned a phenomenal wedding celebration for their friends and family. Thank you Clay and Sarah. I hope you are enjoying Argentina!

I’m heading to Clay and Sarah’s wedding in the Dominican Republic on Monday! I will be out of town from October 19-26. I will be checking e-mail daily, so e-mail (mail@kvphotography.com) is the best way to reach me. Below is a shot from Liz and Jed’s wedding in DR in 2008. I can’t wait to be back!

Maggie and Neal | Princeton, NJ Oct 20th, 2009
weddings | by admin

My internet connection is a little slow here in the Dominican Republic but I wanted to post some images from Maggie and Neal’s New Jersey wedding. After my first meeting with Maggie and Neal the first thing I did was call my mother and tell her I didn’t think I got the job. I told her, “I don’t think the groom liked me at all. He never smiled!” So I was pretty pleased to hear from Maggie a few days later that they were ready to book me for their wedding. It was only after I photographed their engagement session a few weeks later that I realized that Neal just has a quiet and very modest demeanor. That said, Maggie can certainly make him smile! Take a look at the huge grin on his face as Maggie’s dad gives her away to him during the ceremony. They photographed beautifully during their engagement session so I was very much looking forward to the wedding. I was especially excited for the ceremony at the historic Trinity Church in Princeton. Maggie and Neal did a great job planning every detail of their wedding. Thank you for having me!

Julie & Mike | Engagement Session | Manhattan Oct 16th, 2009
engagement portraits | by admin

Julie and Mike were such a fun couple to photograph. I think Julie is the most energetic person I have met in a long time and she kept Mike and me laughing and on our toes. Julie and Mike also banter like an old married couple, which I find hysterical. I can’t wait for the wedding in April!

Dara and Brian | Pittsfield, VT Oct 06th, 2009
weddings | by admin

Dara and Brian called me a few months ago asking if I was available for their wedding. As fate would have it it was the only Saturday in September that I was not booked for! An added bonus: they were planning to be married at one of my favorite spots in the country: Riverside Farm in Vermont. The wedding day was my first meeting with Brian and Dara and I couldn’t have been more pleased to be working with them. And check out Dara’s black wedding gown! Thank you Dara and Brian. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect couple, location, and day with you.

Thank you Allyson! Oct 03rd, 2009
weddings | by admin

I photograped Allyson and Michael’s loft wedding back in late May in Manhattan. Allyson saw from my blog that I love seeing the wedding invitations from my couples so she sent me one with her thank you card! Isn’t it amazing? Below is the thank you note she wrote to me. Thank you Allyson for such a wonderful note.

Karin,

Michael and I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you you, without all your hard work and dedication our day would not habe been so memorable. Thank you for making it flawless. Your attention to detail and last minute ideas perfected our day and took all the stress off of Michael and me. You gave us your time, ful support and attention and for that we say thank you. You put our minds at ease so that we could focus on remembering our vows and the commitment we were about to make.

Michael and I had been envisioning our wedding day for 18 months and you met every need, desire and want we had. Thanks to you we have wonderful memories that we will be able to look back on for years to come and hopefully one day be able to share with our children. So for the next 20 years or so your ears should be ringing, because we will sure be talking highly of you.

Our long planned out journey has finally come to a close; however I am going to hold on to your number and hopefully we will be calling you soon to photograph our little ones.

Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.

Allyson and Michael Colon
