Christine and Dave visited the city to finalize their wedding details for their April wedding. It was a great opportunity for us to meet before the wedding and I tagged along for their cake tasting at Veniero’s, which was a fun experience. Angelo, the baker, has this great Italian cake boss thing going on. Cake and pictures. It was a good day.

I literally cannot wait for Ahang and Peje’s wedding in St. Martin later this year. I am truly going to feel like a kid in a candy store. Beautiful place, beautiful couple, and I’m sure it will be a beautiful celebration. I was a little worried that because Ahang and Peje live in LA that doing engagement photos in 30 degree weather in Manhattan might be a problem but they were amazing models throughout the entire shoot! Thank you so much Ahang and Peje. I’m so glad we had a chance to meet before the wedding.

I am really looking forward to Ahang’s destination wedding later this year in St. Martin. This weekend she traveled to New York from LA for her dress fitting. She had a great time with her ladies at Vera Wang. Her dress was amazing but everyone is going to have to wait until the wedding to see it! Photos from her engagement session will follow soon!

I received the most beautiful note from Emily, whose wedding I shot nearly four years ago, at the Colgate Divinity School in Rochester, NY. Below is the letter and a photo I found from the wedding. I’m so lucky to have such thoughtful couples!

Hi Karin,

I was your 06/10/06 bride. I just have to write to let you know that I
still check your blog regularly and as much as I got excited about
your photos back then, I am at least 10 times more excited about them
now. I often sit and stare and think ‘how? how does she take such
perfect photos?’ I’ve always been interested in photography, and it
was after seeing our wedding photos that I decided to delve into it a
little more. Seriously, looking at your images stirred something
inside me, and I had always been searching for a passion. I have been
in love with taking photos since. And every time I
forget to get out and practice, I go to your blog and get
reinvigorated. It was the last batch you posted (Tania and Justin)
that finally convinced me to just write and let you know how amazing I
think your work is. Every little detail. Every teeny bit of light. I
cannot fathom being able to capture images so perfectly.

Well done. Keep posting. I will keep admiring.
