South Beach Feb 20th, 2009
travels | by admin

I decided to take a break from the Northeast during the winter and head to South Beach until everything thaws out up in New York. It’s a slower time of year for weddings but I have a lot of album design work to do so I thought I might as well do it in a place where the weather is amazing. I’m really excited to check out Miami too, because I haven’t spent that much time here in years past. It seems like there is always something cool going on here! This weekend I head to the South Beach Food and Wine Festival, I can’t wait! Below is a shot of South Beach. More to come soon of my amazing Art Deco neighborhood.

Farewell to the ROC Feb 09th, 2009
news and publications | by admin

This afternoon I watched the sunset outside the window of my apartment in Rochester for the last time. I came to Rochester almost 10 years ago to attend college and never imagined I would stay as long as I did! The last 10 years have been memorable and the the amazing friends I have developed relationships with have been equally so. I’d write more but it’s tough because even though I’m excited and ready to leave I have fought off feelings of anxiety and sadness as I have packed up what remains in my apartment. Cheers to the next 10 years!

Thanks Tricia! Feb 03rd, 2009
news and publications | by admin

My October 11, 2008 bride sent me the most beautiful thank you. I had to share it as it was one of the most heartfelt notes I have recevied. Thanks so much Tricia! I loved photographing your Skaneateles wedding!

Dear Karin,

I feel like I am re-living the most touching moments of our wedding day
all over again. These photos are absolutely incredible – award-worthy -
SPECTACULAR. Clearly you have perfected being in multiple places at one
time – how do you do it? You are such an artist, Karin. I admire and
appreciate your talents so much. You captured some of my most favorite
memories, and your photographs have created new favorite moments for me.
Dan is also thrilled with them. And the password for the website – you
really think of everything on every level!

While I could never pick one favorite, I do love the ones by the barn,
silo, with horse, the wedding programs, the cake, the expressions which
convey so much emotion, the cake, the flowers, our happy
guests….EVERYTHING! Fortunately, my friend Mindy took one photo that
I love that you did not have – and that is a picture of you taking
photos. :)

We look forward to receiving the prints, and are planning on taking them
home for Christmas to go through with the family. I will call you to
confirm we received them.

Karin, thank you again. I know you will be shooting for us again in the
future – that is a promise.

Kind regards,
Tricia

R&R in Belize Jan 27th, 2009
travels | by admin

You all know I love to travel so I chose to head to Belize for a personal vacation. I love the Caribbean but I go there a lot for destination weddings so I chose Belize because I had read it was the “jewel of Central America” and because it was completely new country for me. The beautiful beaches and yummy food factored in as well. Belize exceeded expectations, if you are looking for a honeymoon spot I would highly recommend it! Feel free to email me for info about great places to stay and eat. Below are a few shots I took between of sunning myself, eating, and beating my boyfriend at poker.

It figures that the photo of me I like is one of me rolling my eyes and laughing.

Thanks for all the great comments on Amanda and Phil’s wedding! Just to let anyone know who might be trying to reach me I will be out of the country from January 16- January 25. I will still intermittently be checking e-mail and voicemail but my response time may not be as speedy as usual. Check back next week for some shots from the adventure.

Amanda and Phil | Philadelphia, PA Jan 15th, 2009
weddings | by admin

I hope the rest of my 2009 wedding season goes as great as my first wedding of the year in Philly! Amanda and Phil were giddy with love (and it shows!) and a joy to photograph. Helping the day go off without a hitch was the amazing Peter at Davio’s where the ceremony and reception were held.. He managed the entire day with ease and professionalism. I appreciated it and I know Amanda and Phil did as well. Amanda and Phil decided, since their ceremony was so late in the afternoon, to do their portraits pre-ceremony. This was a great idea and you’ll see a couple shots below that we still captured Phil’s first glimpse of Amanda- what a sweet moment! Thanks to Amanda, Phil and their families for being so gracious and easy to work with.
